A Humble Farewell

I started a project in 2006. It was a dream to record an album. An album that started from scratch, and morphed itself into a project that became very personal, and very meaningful to me. In 2008, a new experience began. In the city of Lincoln, NE a 3 piece band emerged. Playing sometimes as much as 3 times a week every week (mind you, no weekends). These were all shows where we would play Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. We would get to sleep at 3-4 a.m. and all have to get up at 7 a.m. to get to our day jobs. This was The Josh Hill Band. This commitment from Jake Neeman, Andy Essink, and Daniel Christian led this band to where it is today. Within the 2 and a half years JHB has been together, there have been countless local and regional shows, as well as two national tours. Jake, Andy, and Daniel are 3 of the best human beings I have ever been associated with. We’re so close musically. Most importantly, I consider each of the guys my best friends. Without them, there is no way that I would be in the position I am today. With that being said, I will be leaving my home, and moving down south to Huntsville, AL. People ask, why Huntsville? I always say: 2 Hours to Nashville, 4 to Atlanta, 4 to Memphis, 1 hour to Muscle Shoals. I have new opportunities in this city. I have fantastic people I know there (THANK YOU LAURA AND RANDY!) It feel it will continue the success of my music, if I live closer to these cities. I feel that if I pass on this opportunity, I will forever regret it. I will miss everyone that has been so supportive of me. My friends, the Venues, and everyone that has made us who we are today. Rest assured, I will be back. On tours, and visiting quite frequently. Especially during Husker Season! We have one last show on February 11th, at 9:00 P.m. at the Bourbon Theatre for Lincoln Exposed. This will be the last time the original line-up of JHB will be playing together. Thank you for reading. See you soon.
